Cuteness! Meet Snowball, my bunny!

Hey guys! Today's post is neither nail nor beauty related. But I was thinking about all this today, and I thought that maybe I'd share a story with you guys, the story of how I got my pet bunny Snowball! :)

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

The story's kind of crazy. I guess you could say he's a rescue, because I sort of literally rescued him. :)

Back in 2009, when I was in highschool, my family had just moved to a condominium complex. The way it was set up, all of the backyards connected, and there were woods behind it all.
Well one night, my little sister calls us all to the back door to come see that there was a tiny little white rabbit sitting in the yard under the tree.
My mom and I both said that it definitely didn't look like a wild rabbit at all, he looked like the perfect pretty ones you see in pet stores.

The next few days, he kept showing up, and sitting in our yard under our tree for hours. I put out water and vegetables for him, but he would never let me get very close to him without running off back into the woods. But he always came back. I'd always look outside and see him back again, sitting under the tree.

We found out from our neighbors that he used to belong to a family that had just moved out of the neighborhood. They apparently decided that they didn't want to take him wherever they were moving, so they "set him free" into the woods behind the complex.
If you know anything at all about animals though, you know that abandoning a domesticated animal that was born into being a pet, is NOT "SETTING IT FREE," it's "leaving it for DEAD."

He was scared, hungry, dirty, and all alone among wild animals. When people came near him, he acted like an abused animal. Which, if these people were able to just abandon him like that, I have no doubt they probably didn't treat him very well when they had him.

The neighbors who told us about him said his name had been "Snowball."
So the next time he came back, I called his name. He perked his ears up and stared at me. So every time he came back, I would say, "Hi, Snowball." And he would respond every time.

So I kept leaving food for him, and he kept coming back. Each day he would let me get closer and closer to him, and after about a week, he let me pet him.
The next day, I decided that I'd try to bring him inside. I got a small cage that we had for when we took our cats to the vet etc., and I tried to lure him inside.

The first two days, he wouldn't go in, and started to get skittish around me again.
But he still came back. Then one day, he was on our neighbors deck. She let me come over, and he was hiding under their grill shaking like a leaf. I went over and pet him for awhile, and then tried to lure him into the cage.
This time, he went in! :)

So I brought him inside our house, got him some food and water, and kept an eye on him.
The next morning, I let him come out and run around me and my sisters bedroom.
He was scared at first, and didn't come out for probably 20 minutes. But when he did come out, he started exploring and sniffing around, hopping all around and kicking his little feet in the air, and he let us pet him.

It took a long time for him to get comfortable with me, but I let him go at his own pace and pretty soon he was letting me hold him, groom him, feed him treats from my hand.
One day, he did this little thing where he rubbed his chin on my hand and licked my finger. I looked it up, and found out that that's how male rabbits will mark their territory, they have glands on the bottom of their chin, and will rub it against things to mark it as theirs, or do it to their owners to show affection. Kind of like how cats will rub their heads against things.
So he was marking me as his own, and kissed my hand. He does that everyday now! :)

So now, four years later, I still have him, he's in the best of health, and he's my best little buddy! I swear sometimes hell think he's a dog, he likes to be pat on the head, and he'll get on his hind legs and beg for treats or when his water bottle needs refilling, LOL. He's such a snuggle bunny, my family said it was like he thought I was his mother the way he's so attached to me. Especially at the beginning, he never wanted to be apart from me.
Even mow, he'll literally just sit in my lap for hours and be perfectly content. He loves to snuggle, and always marks me with his chin and gives me kisses.
The funniest thing about him though? He HATES carrots! Yes, my RABBIT hates CARROTS. LOL!
He will eat any other vegetable I give him, but if I give him carrots he won't even touch them, and he gives me a look like, "WTF is this, mom?! Are you kidding me right now?!" LOL. :p

So that's my literal rescue story of my furry little best friend. :)
I hope you guys enjoyed it! <3

(Oh and a quick birthday shout-out to my little sister, Happy 14th Birthday Emmy! Love you! <3)

Below are some pictures, a few are from the day I got him to go in the cage, and then they get more and more recent until the last ones which were taken a few days ago. :)

NOTD: Purple Half-Moons!

Hi lovelies!! :)

Today's NOTD is shimmery purple half-moons!

The half moons aren't the best since I just free-handed them with a striping brush, but oh well. :)

For this mani I used:
Sephora by OPI - Just A Little Dangerous for the base color,
Sephora by OPI - I Don't Bite for the half moons, and I sealed it with a coat of Seche Vite top-coat.

Have a fabulous day my loves! :)

Wet'N'Wild "Drinking A Glass of Shine" Eyeshadow Palette!

Hi lovies! Today I have something a little different for you, today's post isn't about nails! *gasp!* LOL
Today I thought I'd show you guys something else I love, make-up!

So what I'm going to be showing today is the Wet'N'Wild "Drinking A Glass Of Shine" eyeshadow palette. :)
This palette is soo pretty, the colors are definitely me!
I actually got this palette as a Christmas gift from my cousin Sarah, you may remember I showed it in
this post .

This palette had two different sides, a bright colored side, and a natural/smoky side. You could mix and match different colors, but for this post I did it the way the palette shows you.

Other than the palette, I also used ELF Eye Primer, CoverGirl Perfect-Blend eyeliner in black, CoverGirl LashBlast mascara in black, and some Eco-Tools shadow brushes.

So here's the pretty palette:

Look at those colors! Loooooook!:

Here I swatched the colors on my hand to see how they looked on my skin:

The really cool thing that I love about this is that the brush is double-sided! One side is a sponge, and the other side is an angled brush, which works amaaaazingly for doing your crease! :)
(p.s. there's make-up already on it because I had a herp-a-derp moment and forgot to take pictures of it before I started. Oops. Sorry about that. LOL :p)

The sponge tip:

The angled brush:

So I did the teal/blue/purple look first. I decided since the colors of this one were so bright, to only line my water-line/inner-lids with the eyeliner. started by using the sponge side to put the teal color on my lid, then I used the angled brush to put the blue color on my crease. Then I used one of my Eco-Tools shadow brushes to add some of the purple to my outer corner, and very lightly on my lower lid. Then I used another Eco-Tools brush to add the white highlight to my browbone and to highlight my inner-corner, then blended it all together. I also added just a teensy bit of the highlight color over-top of the purple on my lower lid to lighten it up and make it not so obvious.

And here's how it came out:

(This one's a bit blurry, sorry, but you can really see the purple in it.):

So then I did the natural/smoky side. I lined both my water-line with and a thin line on my upper-lid for this one. I also cheated a little bit with this one, because the tan shade for the lid was a tad but too dark for my skin, so I blended just a tiny bit of the brown, and some of the highlight color to lighten it up. Then I followed the same steps as I did before: angled brush to add the dark brown to my crease, Eco-Tools brush to add the black to my inner-corner. I actually went just a little bit into the very beginning of my crease with the black, and blended it out to give it a more smoky look. Then I cheated again and used the white highlight color from the other side of the palette because the other one wasn't shimmery enough for me. LOL :)

This was actually more dark and smoky in person, but you can at least see the way everything blends together.

So that's the palette! I really love it, I can't wait to play around with it and mix and match the colors! :)

What do you guys think? Also, did you like having a make-up post from me instead just all nails all the time? Let me know, because if you guys like it maybe ill do it more often! :)
Not to worry though, the nails aren't going anywhere! ;)

Luck of the Irish Challenge: Day 4!

Hi lovies! I'm super late posting today, sorry about that. But today is Day 4 of the Luck of the Irish Challenge, and the theme is Shamrocks!

I went with a green/gold combo for this one!
I used Sephora by OPI - Already Famous for the gold, and Color Club - Wild Cactus for the green.

To make the shamrocks, I used a dotter to make tiny little heart shapes for the clover leaves. :)

Tomorrow is the last day of the challenge, so make sure to come back for that! My nails for it are little simple, but I like them! :)

An of course, make sure go check out all the other bloggers manis! :)

Luck of the Irish Challenge: Day 3!

Hi lovies!! Today is Day 3 of the Luck of The Irish Challenge, and today's theme is Leprechaun! :)

So here's my little leprechaun, I was going for something sort of like the guy from the lucky charms box, but I think I kind of ended up with an Irish Amish guy. Oops. LOL.

Then for the other nails I was going for his little gold belt buckles. Because in my mind leprechauns have belt buckles? Maybe he's an Irish Amish Pilgrim. I don't know LOL.

Don't forget to check out the other bloggers leprechauns! :)

Luck of The Irish Challenge: Day 2!

Hi olives! It's time for Day 2 of the St. Patty's Day Challenge!

Today's theme is Pot O'Gold/Rainbow, so I made a rainbow leading up to a pot O'Gold! :)

I used Layla Hologram in "Mermaid Spell" for the base, cuz I thought it would make a cool little magical sky base. :)

I hope you guys like it! I really like how this one came out!

Don't forget to check out the other bloggers manis! :D

Luck of The Irish Challenge: Day 1!

Hello my lovelies! Today marks the start of a new Nail Art Challenge, YAY! :D

This one is called the Luck Of The Irish Challenge, and it's a 5-day St. Patrick's Day themed challenge, hosted by the amazing Nicole from Dipped In Lacquer! :)

Today's theme was green. I didn't do anything too exciting for these, but tomorrow's are amazing and I'm so excited to post them! :)

So for today I used Zoya - Mitzi, and then added some gold glitter accent nails using Sephora by OPI - The Only Gold Top-Coat For Me.
Then, just because I was curious how Mitzi would look and feel with a gloss top coat rather than leaving it matte, I added a coat of Seche Vite top-coat.
I kind of liked it, but I think I prefer Mitzi as a matte. :)

Don't forget to check out the other bloggers in the challenge! :) :
