Make-Up Swatch-Time!: TooFaced Peanut Butter And Jelly Palette!

Hello Lovelies!

So, I'm sure you've noticed the (not so)little redesign around here!
I wanted to get back into nail-blogging, and I really liked the old design, but I just felt I wanted this site to maybe, how should I put it, grow up a little.
Don't get me wrong, blacklight-neon-rainbow-hot-pink-accented-zebra-print will always have a special place in my heart.
But fact is, I'm getting old, y'all.
I started this back when I was 18, I'm now about to be 24 this year.
(I feel about aging the way Buffy feels about hard liquor)

So, I've taken on a new, more delicate, more adulti-er, dainty rose gold look.
We've even got a new header, and a new signature!
Hope you guys enjoy it!
I'm getting elderly, so you're just gonna have to live with it. ;)
(GET OFF MY LAWN!!!)

MOVING ON.
This post is actually FAR overdue.
Another thing I want to do moving forward in the future of this blog (does this have a future? does anyone read this? shout-out if you do because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one here, and honestly I'm ok with that. I entertain mydamnself.) is I want to do a lot more makeup swatching, and just generally beauty related posts.
FEAR NOT! Nails are still my main obsession and I have LOADS of nail-related ideas moving forward, I might even start making tutorial videos again. (does anyone want that? did anyone watch those? again, pretty sure just me but it's cool.)

This is a makeup swatch-time for a palette I got for my birthday last year, (shout-out to my cousin Sarah for this beauty!) that I made and edited and even typed up and had saved in my drafts here for almost a YEAR... Totally thought that I had scheduled to post, forgot about, and only found out last week upon returning to my lovely blogsite to upload LAST weeks post that... NAH.
I suck at the technology-ing, guys, I'm really sorry.

SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO/HESITATION
HERE IS THE POST I PROMISED AND COMPLETELY INTENDED TO GIVE YOU ONE YEAR AGO.
(I'm so professional you guys I can't even handle it, can you handle it? I can't handle it)

Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette!
(now that the hype has completely died down and everyone has already seen it, ALRIGHT KATE)
💗
HOW CUTE is the packaging. It's literally a tiny piece of toast with peanut-butter, jelly lips, and BOMB eyelashes!

The number one thing you notice when you open this palette, it SMELLS SO GOOOOOD!
All of Too-Faced's food scented shadows are made with real cocoa powder, so it smells like literal chocolate. It took everything in me to not taste the fallout when I put it on.

I had infinite chuckles at this one. Family Guy fans, where you at!

As all Too-Faced palettes, this one comes with the adorable little place-card with three different combos you can do using the palette!
Read on, I made my attempt at these looks after swatching! :)

PB&J Includes 9 shades, 6 main shadows, and 3 highlight shades.
They're sectioned off into 3 categories:
Soft & Sweet, Rich & Creamy, and of course, PB & J!

Let's start off with the highlight shades!

Spread The Love
First up, we have Spread The Love.
This is a super pretty, soft beige matte shimmer.
It's great for a softer day-to-day highlight, and it makes a perfect base shade for pretty much any look you're going for, especially if you have very pink undertones like me.

Bananas

Bananas actually turned out to be my favorite shade in this whole palette!
It is a gorgeous metallic yellow shimmer, I use it most often as a brow-bone highlight, and even a cheek highlighter!
It is super shiny and iridescent, I'm in love with it.
And honestly, who doesn't love peanut butter and bananas together?!

Extra Creamy
Last of the 3 highlights, we have Extra Creamy.
This is a nice, soft matte white.
I like this one because while it's very pigmented, it's also very workable and you can build it up more or less to your liking. This is great for an inner corner highlight, or under your lash line to make your eyes seem more open and awake.

Peanut Butter
Ahh yes, what you've all been waiting for, the infamous Peanut Butter!
This is the shade that started it all. This shade was first seen in Too-Faced Chocolate palette, and so many people fell in love with it, that they decided to base a whole palette off of it, and thus brings us here today! This concludes today's food-based makeup history lesson.
Peanut Butter is a matte, warm, orangey brown.
It. Is. Made for me.
I know what you are saying, "But Kate, you have an incredibly cool complexion with ridiculous pink undertones, orangey colors are not for you!) and I HEAR YOU, I do.
But y'all can't stop me. I like warm orangey colors, AND I WILL WEAR THEM, DAGGUMMIT.
I care not what magazines or professional makeup artists who literally do this for a living and know way better than me have to say about it.

 Peanut Butter Cup
Peanut Butter Cup is s spin-off of Peanut Butter.
A slightly more deepened, chocolatey brown metallic shimmer.
This is a perfect transition shade for all your Reese's dreams.

Peanut Brittle
Another spin-off from Peanut Butter, Peanut Brittle is quite literally the mother shade, shimmerized! (stop making up words kate)
It is a nice orangey brown, metallic shimmer.
It looks much more orange on me, but as we've established, I LIKE HAVING OOMPA LOOMPA EYELIDS, OK?!

 Jammin'
Next up is Jammin', the first of the respective J colors.
Jammin' is a rich, deep purple metallic shimmer.
This shade just screams Smokey Eye.

 Jelly
And of course, the most anticipated new shade of the palette, the main J itself, we have Jelly!
Jelly is a gorgeous jewel toned almost-pink purple iridescent shimmer.
It's so hard to pick up the gorgeous pink shift this one has, I find if you apply it with a damp brush it enhances the effect even more.
This is closest thing to a multi-chrome I've ever seen in an eyeshadow, and I. AM. IN. LOVE.

Nuts About U
Last up in the palette we had Nuts About U.
Similar to Peanut Butter, Nuts About U is a matte orangey brown, though slightly more orange than Peanut Butter, and has a very slight shimmer.

And lastly, I wanted to do the three eye looks included in the little booklet!
So here are my attempts!

Soft & Sweet

Rich & Creamy

PB & J

So that is the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly palette!
I saw the promo for this palette before it was even released, and I wanted it for SO long.
Then my cousin Sarah gave me a gift card for my birthday, and I immediately knew what to buy! <3
Zero regrets, it lived up to all it's hype for sure.

I'm hoping sometime in the near future I can get my little claws onto the Peanut Butter and Honey palette, so keep an eye out for that post! ;)

QUESTION OF THE DAY!

Which of the three included looks would you wear?
Let me know in the comments!

Personally my favorite thematically is definitely PB&J, (obvi) but in terms of wearability I would be more likely to skew toward Rich & Creamy.

Thanks for reading, Lovelies, and I will see you in the next post!

A Very Special Swatch-Time 💗

Hey Lovelies!
I know it's been a long time since I've posted. That's due to quite a few things, mainly I had a job position over the end of 2016/early 2017 that made it difficult to have time to post.
Then, in May 2017, my oldest sister, Christina, was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, she lost her short battle, and passed away this December.

2017 was bittersweet for this reason. I flew out of state to help her through her first surgeries, and she and my nephew and brother-in-law ended up coming home in July to live with us.
So I got to spend more time with her than I had in a long while, she had moved out of state about 8 years before that since her husband was in the army.
I'm forever grateful that I got all that time with her, but sad that it was the last bit of time, and it still doesn't feel like enough.

My beautiful big sister <3

My sister was very active in the online/indie polish community, particularly when it came to Lynnderella.
Lynnderella was her favorite brand by far.

Chrissy's swatch of the custom Lynnderella Lynn made for her birthday last year. Tiffany's themed, of course. (Breakfast At Tiffany's was her all-time favorite.)

After hearing about her passing, Lynn and her brother Paul decided to do something so amazing and sweet, to honor her memory and show how much she was loved within their community.

Lynn created a polish, aqua but of course,  (or "Tiffany Blue" as Chrissy would put it) and will donate all of the proceeds to The American Cancer Society, in my sister's name.

When I first heard this was happening, I couldn't help but cry. Chrissy loved Lynnderella so much, she had such a huge collection, I know she would have loved to know this was done in her name.
The polish itself is beyond perfect for her, Lynn really hit it out of the park. She would had been all over this color.
And to know that all of the proceeds are going to help research, and help other families hopefully one day not have to lose their loved ones the way we lost her, and many others in our family, is so so so amazing.

Nothing will ever make the pain of losing my big sister go away, but having this kind of generosity and love shown, and seeing just how many people out there knew and loved and cared for her, has warmed my heart so much.

Nail polish was always something me and Chrissy bonded over, and to have this now to remember her by, means the absolute world to me.

So, let's get on to swatching, and let me show you this gorgeous polish, dedicated to my gorgeous sister.
💗

Aqua Bella ðŸ’—

Aqua Bella is a gorgeous holographic aqua shimmer, with holo and hot pink micro glitters, silver four -pointed stars, and icy blue hearts.

A close-up of the hearts and stars <3

A blurred shot to showcase that gorgeous holo <3

Our youngest sister, Emily, and I had some sister time and did our nails together and talked about how much Chrissy would've loved it. <3
(then we played Mario Kart once our nails dried! <3 )

💗

I've thanked Lynn and Paul time and time again, they're honestly probably getting sick of hearing it at this point, but I will say it one final time here,
Thank you.
I cannot even put into words how much this means to me, and our entire family.

Until the next post, Lovelies.
Go out there and hug everyone you care about, and let them know how much you love them.💗
