NOTD: Purple Half-Moons!

Hi lovelies!! :)

Today's NOTD is shimmery purple half-moons!

The half moons aren't the best since I just free-handed them with a striping brush, but oh well. :)

For this mani I used:
Sephora by OPI - Just A Little Dangerous for the base color,
Sephora by OPI - I Don't Bite for the half moons, and I sealed it with a coat of Seche Vite top-coat.

Have a fabulous day my loves! :)

Luck of the Irish Challenge: Day 4!

Hi lovies! I'm super late posting today, sorry about that. But today is Day 4 of the Luck of the Irish Challenge, and the theme is Shamrocks!

I went with a green/gold combo for this one!
I used Sephora by OPI - Already Famous for the gold, and Color Club - Wild Cactus for the green.

To make the shamrocks, I used a dotter to make tiny little heart shapes for the clover leaves. :)

Tomorrow is the last day of the challenge, so make sure to come back for that! My nails for it are little simple, but I like them! :)

An of course, make sure go check out all the other bloggers manis! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 22: Plaid/Mustache!

Hello Lovelies! I'm all caught up on this Challenge, and now it's time for Day 22! :)

Today's Flip/Flop was Plaid/Mustache and... I did both! I did plaid with a mustache accent nail!

For the plaid I used:
Sephora by OPI - What Aura Gonna Wear?, I'm Wired, and Read My Palm.
For the mustache I used: Zoya - Storm (because why not have a sparkly mustache?! If I could grow one I'd totally cover it in glitter all the time. :D)
Then I sealed with Seche Vite top-coat. :)

Make sure to check out all the other bloggers manis! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 21: Flames/Dots

Hello lovies! It's time for Day 21 of the Flip/Flop February Challenge!

This days Flip/Flop was Flames/Dots.
I went with dots because I've been wanting to try the interlocking dots design for awhile now. :)

This was soo fun, the only thing I have to say is, I wish that my camera would've picked up the green color right! This is definitely NOT color accurate to that polish, it is for the pink but for some reason my camera decided to make my life difficult and not pick up the green correctly at all. It's such a pretty green too. Grrrr.

Anyways, for this mani I used:
Sephora by OPI - What Aura Gonna Wear?
Color Club - Wild Cactus
And then I sealed with a coat of Seche Vite top-coat. :)

Please don't forget to check out all the other bloggers manis as well! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 18: Galaxy/Rhinestones!

Hello there lovies! It's Day 18 of Flip/Flop February! :)

Today's Flip/Flop was Galaxy/Rhinestones, and I chose the flip! :)
I've never actually done galaxy nails before, but I've always looveddd the look of them and have wanted to try them.

So for my galaxy I started off with a base color of Sally Hansen - Graphite Gravity, then I sponged on N.Y.C. Black Lace Creme. I thought it gave it a neat little metallic/black base for my galaxy.
Next, for my cosmos I sponged on Sephora by OPI - Just A Little Dangerous,
S-Age Is Just A Number, and I Think I Cayenne.
Then I dotted on a few stars using Sinful Colors - Snow Me White, then topped it off with a coat of Sephora by OPI - Meet Me At The Disco.
I really liked the addition of the holo glitter, I think it gave it a really cool starry look. :)

As always, please make sure to go check out all the other bloggers creations as well! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 17: Delicate Print/Newspaper!

Hi loves! So today is 17 of the Flip/Flop February Challenge!

Today's Flip/Flop was Delicate Print/Newspaper.
I totally intended to do newspaper nails, but I failed miserably when I tried it. LOL. So instead, I guess you could classify these as Delicate Print. I used a nail art pen to write cursive writing, so it sort of looks like newspaper print? LOL. I actually didn't hate these though.

For this mani I used a base color of
Sephora by OPI - Thyme For A Mani
And then used a black Sally Hansen nail art pen to write the lettering.

I decided for the words, rather that just having random lettering, to make it be some lyrics! So I used lyrics from one of my favorite songs, "Ours" by Taylor Swift.
This one part of the chorus is some of my all-time favorite lyrics, where she says:
"Don't you worry your pretty little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine, and life makes love work hard."
It's a little tough to see because of my crappy camera lol, but that's what it says. :)

And of course, don't forget to check out the other bloggers manis!! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 16: Animal Print/Stripes!

Hi lovies! It's time for Day 16 of the Flip/Flop February Challenge!

Today's Flip/Flop was Animal Print/Stripes.
So what did I go with? Well both, kind of. Zebra Stripes!! (Surprise, surprise! ;p)

And, in typical me fashion, they're rainbow zebra stripes! :D
This is actually my first shot at freehand zebra stripes, and I love the way they turned out! :)

To do these nails, I started off with a base of Sinful Colors - Snow Me White.
Then I sponged on the rainbow gradient using:
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Twisted Pink
Sephora by OPI - And A Cherry On Top
Wet'N'Wild Shine - Sunny Side Up
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Mellow Yellow
Ulta - In The Lime- Light
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - The Real Teal
Wet'N'Wild Fast Dry - Buffy The Violet Slayer
Then I used a black Sally Hansen Nail Art pen to freehand the zebra stripes, then sealed it with Seche Vite top-coat! :)

As always, please make sure to go check out all the other bloggers manis!

Flip/Flop February Day 15: Stamping/Jelly Sandwich!

Hiii lovies! Grrr, I'm a fail so much LOL. I fell so behind this weekend on this challenge, but I am now back on track, I promise! :)

This is day 15 of the Flip/Flop February Challenge, and our flip/flop was stamping/jelly sandwich.
Of cooouuuurse I went with jelly sandwich! I love me my jelly sammiches! :)

For this jelly sammich I used:
Sephora by OPI - And A Cherry On Top, which is a beautiful red jelly, and
Sephora by OPI - Justa' Pinch Of Glitter, a super pretty gunmetal glitter. :)

Don't forget to check out all the other bloggers manis! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 13: Watercolor/Sponging!

Hello again lovies! Time for Day 13 of the Flip/Flop February Challenge!

Today's Flip/Flop is Watercolor/Sponging, and I chose to do watercolor!
For my watercolor, I used the technique where you dip your brush into acetone, and then into your polish, so that it gives it a nice, soft feel. Like watercolor paintings! :)

I have to say though, I'm not totally satisfied with how it turned out. I mean, I get that the point of watercolor is for it to be a little sloppy/blurry and imperfect looking, but I think I just had something completely different in my head. I don't hate it, but I could've done better i think. Maybe I'll try this one again someday. :p

The design I decided to go with was a cherry blossom tree. I love cherry blossoms, they're so beautiful, and not too difficult to translate into nails. Without even realizing it, I set it against a mint green background and sort of reminds me of the Arizona green tea logo! LOL :p

The base color is E.L.F. - Mint Cream.
For the tree branches I mixed together Avon - Olive Green and N.Y.C. - Black Lace Creme,
And for the flower blossoms I used Sephora by OPI - I'm Wired, What Aura Gonna Wear?, and A True Romantic, and mixed them together in different ways to get all the different shades of pink.

I'm not completely satisfied with this mani, but oh well. :P

Please don't forget to go check out all the other bloggers creations! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 10: Fishtail Braid/Half Moons!

Helloooo again lovies! It's already day 10 of Flip/Flop February!

Today's Flip/Flop is Fishtail Braid/Half Moons. This one was a toss-up for me, because I love half-moons, but I'd never done fishtail braid before and had been to try it. So ultimately, I decided to go out of my comfort zone a little and went with the flip! :)

And I have to say, I really like it! I was afraid it was gonna be really complicated and confusing and turn into yet another fail for me, but it was actually pretty simple and easy!
It's funny, because I can't fishtail braid my hair to save my life, but I can braid polish! LOL.

The technique is actually a lot simpler than it seems, you just keep layering back and forth until you reach the bottom of your nail. There are loads of great tutorials out there to explain it. :)

The colors I used were:
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Celeb City
Sephora by OPI - I'm Wired
Sephora by OPI - Read My Palm

Don't forget to check out all the other bloggers creations!! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 8! Color Blocking/Black and White!

Hi my lovies!! You know the drill, Flip/Flop February day 8!!

Today's Flip/Flop is Color Blocking/Black And White. And I sort-of-kind-of-not-really did both but-not-really-either-at-the-same-time. So... Yeah. xD

For some odd reason that I can't explain, my brain immediately thought, "JIGSAW PUZZLE!!!" when I read Color Blocking. Pretty sure this doesn't count as color blocking at all but...yeah. I couldn't NOT do it once I thought of it LOL. So blame my brain.
And, just for the fun of it, I made one of my jigsaw nails be Black/White/Gray. I know that that's not strictly black and white, but I thought it would look cool with the transitioning from white, to light gray, to dark gray, to black.

I probably should've added an outline of some kind but, oh well.

Oh also, kiss that long ring fingernail goodbye because it broke off really low last night. :(
I may or may not put a falsie in it's place, I haven't decided yet. But there's no way in heck that I'm cutting down all my nails until after this challenge is done. Why must you break, nails, why?! Oh well.

The polishes I used for this mani were:

Color Block Nails:
Sephora by OPI - And A Cherry On Top
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Mellow Yellow
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - The Real Teal
Ulta - In The Lime-Light

Black and White Nail (from lightest to darkest):
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
Sephora by OPI - Thyme For A Mani
Sephora by OPI - Break A Leg-Warmer
Ulta - Little Black Dress

Of course as always, please go check out the other bloggers manis!! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 7: Sugar Spun/Pattern!

Hey lovies!! Its Day 7 of Flip/Flop February!!

Today's Flip/Flop is Sugar Spun/Pattern, and of course I went with the Flip!! I looove me some sugar spun! It's one of my all time favorite nail art techniques, it's so fun!

For those of you who don't know, Sugar Spun is a fun technique in which you get some polish (the thicker the better!) and let it sit for a moment, then stir it around so it gets nice and tacky. Once it's tacky, you pull it back and get those "strings" of polishes then you twist and drape them over your nail until you're satisfied with the look.
The best part about it is that it's pretty much impossible to mess up! The whole point of it is that it looks crazy and imperfect, so if it turns out sloppy, that just means you did it right!! ;)

For my base color I used Sephora by OPI - What Aura Gonna Wear?
And for the "strings" I used:
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Mellow Yellow
Wet'N'Wild Shine - Sunny Side Up
And Wet'N'Wild Shine - Tickled Pink.

I was going for a kinda sunset-y quality. :p

The first photo is without top-coat, the second is with top- coat. :)

And of course, don't forget to check out all the other bloggers manis!! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 6: Fan Brush/Glitter Bomb!

Hello again lovies! It's time for Day 6 of Flip/Flop February!

Today's Flip/Flop is Fan Brush/Glitter Bomb. Unfortunately, I don't have a fan brush yet. I wish I did, and if I did you can bet your keister that I would've used it today, but alas, I do not. SOOO I did glitter bomb!! And I mean, how can pass up glitter bomb anyways? I'm like a walking glitter bomb!! xD
As my favorite quote says: "Some girls are just born with glitter in their veins." Yeah, definitely me. And Ke$ha. We got that in common. :p

On to the nails!!
Rather than just doing one shade of glitter, I decided to do like, a million. Ok well, six. Because the silver nail has two types of glitter on it. Overkill? I think not. You can never have too much glitter. NEVER I say! So yeah. They're sort of Glitter Skittle nails! :D
Side Note, I'm sad that because its blue, you totally can't see the shatter effect of the Blasted polish. I will properly swatch that soon, I promise! :)

This is how I did it:
Thumb: Base-coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pink Satin, two coats of Wet'N'Wild Shine - Sparked.
Index Finger: Base-coat of Sephora by OPI - Already Famous, three coats of Sephora by OPI - The Only Gold Top-Coat For Me.
Middle Finger: Base-coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - The Real Teal, two coats of Sephora by OPI Blasted - Turquoise Glitter.
Ring Finger: Base-coat if Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Celeb City, one coat of Sephora by OPI - Justa' Pinch Of Glitter, followed by one coat of Sephora by OPI - Meet Me At The Disco.
Pinky: Base-coat of Sephora by OPI - And A Cherry On Top, three coats of Sephora by OPI - Merry Me.

So that's my glitterbomb! KABLAMO! ;p

And as always, please make sure to go check out all the other bloggers creations!! :)

Flip/Flop February Day 4: One Stroke/Ombré

Hello again my lovelies! :)
It's time for Flip/Flop February Day 4!

Today's Flip/Flop is: One Stroke/Ombré.

I went with the flop today, since I've never done one stroke before. Plus I don't have any acrylic paints at the moment, at that's really the best way they come out. Excuses excuses. :p

So I went with a simple pink ombré! :)
(P.S. Is it just me, or does anyone else automatically think of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S episode where Joey was a cologne sprayer whenever they hear the word ombré? Cuz it makes me think of Hombre. No? Just me? Moving on...)

The polishes I used for this were (in order from lightest to darkest, or thumb to pinky.):
Sephora by OPI - A True Romantic
Wet'N'Wild Shine - Tickled Pink
Zoya - Happi
Sephora by OPI - What Aura Gonna Wear?
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Twisted Pink

Make sure to check out all the other bloggers creations as well! :)
